Privacy Policy.

The short version

This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising. It counts visits with a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not identify individual visitors. The only personal information we collect is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter. We never sell or rent it.

This policy covers briefcasego.com and the BriefcaseGo Insights newsletter. Our Android app, AI Security Management Prep, has its own app privacy policy. The app collects nothing at all.

What we collect

• Your email address, if you subscribe. Signing up for the newsletter sends your email address to Buttondown, our newsletter provider. You will get a confirmation email first, and nothing else is sent until you confirm. Buttondown keeps your address and subscription details, such as when you signed up. Open and click tracking are both turned off, so we do not see whether you opened an email, and the links in our emails go straight to their destination without being rewritten.
• Anonymous visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see totals such as page views, which pages are popular, the referring site, browser type and country. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device, and it does not create a profile of you. We only ever see aggregate numbers, never individual visitors.
• Email you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply.

We do not collect your name, postal address, phone number or payment details through this site.

Service providers that handle your data

The site relies on a small number of providers. Each one receives only the information it needs to do its job:

• Buttondown stores newsletter subscriber records and sends the emails.
• Cloudflare provides the visit-count analytics described above.
• Our web hosting provider serves the site. Like any web host, it logs the IP address of each visit for security purposes. We do not receive or review those logs.
• Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces. Your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details to deliver them. Google states that the Fonts service does not set cookies.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information only if the law requires it.

Cookies and Do Not Track

We set no cookies, and the analytics tool sets none either. We do not track you across other websites or over time, and we do not let advertising networks do so on this site. That means there is no tracking for a Do Not Track signal to switch off: the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends one.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every newsletter email. The same footer has a link to manage your subscription.
• Ask us to delete your record entirely by emailing privacy@briefcasego.com. We will remove it from Buttondown and confirm by reply.
• Ask what we hold. Write to the same address and we will tell you plainly. For most people, the answer is an email address and a signup date.

How long we keep it

Your subscriber record stays with Buttondown while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Buttondown keeps a minimal record so that you are not emailed again. Ask us and we will delete that record too.

Children

This site is for professionals preparing for certification exams. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the dates at the top. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will say so clearly on this page and in the next newsletter, rather than quietly editing the text.
